Haley: ‘I turned round and Nathan was down on one knee…’

You know me, I’m a sucker for films that end with a wedding. And come on, how better to start the event than to ask Haley Mendez how she was proposed by Nathan Lake….

“Well”, the 27 years told American confessed, “I was in a bad mood, I was grumpy because it was Thanksgiving and that I couldn’t be back home with my family, I couldn’t be in the States, and add insult to injuries, it was lockdown in England, I couldn’t even celebrate here properly in the UK.

“So I was not happy, I was pretty grumpy, but Nathan was like “come on, let’s go for a walk, let’s get some fresh air”.

I was not going anywhere, and he had virtually to grab me out to get me to have a hike on the little hill just next to our home in Cheltenhan where we go regularly to walk and relax.

“When we got to the top of the hill, he was left a bit behind, I was walking in front of him, I turned back to see where he was, and he was on one knee…

Who knew he had that much romanticism in him…”
